Nothing like a dusting of fresh snow to add some contrast to a landscape image, the hills above lake Chelan in Eastern Washington made for interesting images while we cross country skied Echo Ridge.

Alpine Trees

I love shooting alpine trees, they tend to be a lot more uniform and have a much bigger height to diameter ratio than their low altitude brethren.

They always work well for framing a mountain or valley and for portrait orientation style of image's which I shoot as much if not more than landscape orientation.

A new direction for me ? perhaps. X-Pro1

I have gotten a taste for the Fuji color and files with the x10, the x100 looks good but the x-Pro1 looks even better and I'm hearing very good things so far.
