One of my favorite subjects, probably due to my structural background, in school one of my projects was designing a bridge truss. Today they fascinate me. suspension bridges in particular, elegant and huge accomplishments in engineering, they make great subjects, when light up at night they are perfect centers of interest for photography.
I like photographing them at dusk. When shooting to late, black sky's and the artificial light reflected of clouds can ruin an image. Using a longer exposure to smooth water and hopefully get some cloud movement will give the image more interest. City lights in the foreground or background are nice, beaches or rocks can add foreground interest.
